While the FZ6 does have flaws - it's no slouch. My '04 had no problems hanging with a Z1000, Mille, or a HawkGT last time I was in the N. GA mountains. Didn't feel like I needed to wring the tits off it, either. More gear changes than my Hawk - but it's a 600cc inline-4, waddya 'spect?

Great long-distance comfort, even heavily laden.

I'd say, the people who bash it the most are ones who've never thrown a leg across it, or have ridden only spec sheets all their lives.

No matter what your bike - Get out and Ride!

I think the text below the 140mm position and 65mm position YCC-I picture should be swapped. The lifted upper halves makes the effective intake length shorter, and is good for higher rpm. You can check the official yamaha website.

Incremental changes are required to be competitive in the racing classes you know.

Let's see:

1998 Yamaha R1 - 150HP

2007 Yamaha R1 - 178HP (~18.5% increase--claimed numbers of course)

1999 Twin Cam 88 - 82 ft. lbs.

2007 Twin Cam 96 - 93 ft. lbs. (~13.5% increase--also claimed numbers)

Don't be hate'n just because Yamaha got their 18.5% increase a little at a time...

i would like to know the ergo creature profiles used to design yamaha sportbike dimensions. they were definitely not designed for homo sapiens. rhesus monkeys maybe? a pre-pubescent kenny roberts?

memo to yamaha: homo sapiens now walk upright, and in general they don't ride their bikes at nurburgring. either design in some rational ergos or start offering discount coupons for bob's big barn of chiropracty.

Wasn't worried about a ZX-14. Although my Busa is a 2005, it's really a 1999, cause they haven't changed em in 7 years, so it's old news. I'm not really worried if it's the fastest. It wasn't when I bought it, and it isn't now.

Default Go to the gym

These guys never learn..If you want to ride sportbikes you have to go to the gym or stop eating twinkees . No room for beer bellies on a sportbike vs the foot forward lay thy belly on the tank cruiser.
