I just had the opportunity this year to test ride a Buell XB12Ss Lightning Long out at Road America and we went on a very nice ride on some beautiful roads.

I have to admit that I quite enjoyed the Buell and that it put a big old smile on my face, but I still like my 2000 ZRX1100 better.

ok.. im'a bit pissed.. you guys say no adjustable front on a 06 919 .. did you guys look at the bike you were riding or just cut and paste from the 02 reviews

from honda's website:

"Front Suspension 43.0mm cartridge fork with adjustable preload and compression-damping; 4.3 inch travel" they started doing that in 04 I think..

And you make a big deal of.. "what would I spend my money on" well lets see best fit and finish... reliable as an anvil and comfy... after market parts aplenty (so ya gotta order from europe for some of em)

So if your a weekend warrior.. go find something that kicks ya in the nuts... me will take my 02 Honda 919.. and ride it everyday to work, take trips on it and dice it up with my sportbike buddies on sunday... adding bits and peices to fine tune it to be "my bike"

They forgot to add that it's as boring as watching fish float in a barrel. Honda needs to wake up.

I hear the battery has long charging intervals, so I think it would be perfect for you.

I love the fact that the Buell is taking up 70% of the discussion here. People either love these bikes, or love to hate them (and probably never rode one).

That's why I love mine! It's never boring, in design or execution or experience. It may lose the comparo, but it's the one people want to talk about....and more than a few want to ride home afterwards.

The Buell is already a hit. I'm pretty sure they sell more Buells every year than Honda does VFR's. There really is nothing wrong with the motor and tranny, it's just different, and isn't that the point of the Buell anyway? If it was the same motor and trans and styling as the other bikes then it wouldn't be a Buell. Maybe if you RODE one instead of TALKING about one, you would see they are pretty good motorcycles. I personally wouldn't buy one, but mostly because it doesn't fit me very well, and not because of any other shortcomings. I did test one against a VFR, Brutale, and Tuono, and it compared very well to those bikes overall.
