The VRod is probably the best example of a great-looking liquid cooled engine. The MV Agusta Brutale is nice as well.

The liquid cooled Ducati Monsters are kinda scary though.

Can you say Detroit panic of '58?

Why not tailfins too?

You know, there is a certain aesthetic that actually aims to makes things look kind of complex and gadgety. From the pictures it looks like the engine was intentionally styled that way. Look at the cases and cylinders; they've got all sorts of multifaceted surfaces. In fact, some of those surfaces might even be covers.

I think it's a little too much, but if I had to bet, I'd say that the design goal was probably to make look different from classically styled naked bikes. And there certainly is some sound logic to that. Whether it ultimately succeeds is another question.

Agreed. Those cans are too overwhelming to me.

At first they called the new Japanese styling "origami" because of all the creases. Now it's gone so far I think it should be called "pre-wadded". Can they get any uglier?

Is there really a good example of a good looking naked bike from Italy outside of the Brutale? Aprilia gets knocked down a peg for poor paint schemes and the Monster is just dated. Mind, this bike will be way cheaper and probably easier/cheaper to maintain....

When designing motorcycles, I think the Japanese look at raptors while the Italians look at women. That's the effect their bikes

have on me, scary vs seductive.

Please do this. Throw in the KTM 950 SM while you're at it. Any other naked-ish bikes worth mentioning to throw in there...?
