"I predict that this will die a quick death...."

With that, you have nearly guaranteed it's complete success.

They need to hurry up and capitalize on the idea before the japs come and do it better for less.

Re: Piaggo MP3 Model Introduction

This design is terrific - I've been playing around with something like this in my head for a long time (hey, I'm lazy, what can I say) - and my only thought is: make it 4 wheels, not 3. Put 2 out back.

I've often wondered why F1 cars don't have cars that effectively have round profile tires that can lean like this - combined with aerodynamics, including underbody ground effects, it seems that you could create something with dynamic tire camber that would have all the benefits of a massively canted wheel while turning, and all the stability of zero camber while in a straight line.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd come up with something myself. Seriously, though, 2 rear wheels and 2 fronts in this type of arrangement (a leaning one) would be amazing; in a car, with widely spaced wheels that could similarly lean while keeping the body level you'd have something similarly amazing. I love this idea.

Nah, that takes more talent and less brains, something I just can't seem to muster-up (or down!).

Buell? Dinette Set? Don't cave in. She won't stay mad for long.

And it's only $48,000!?!?

I think it needs a little more development. Add a fourth, rear wheel and enclose the body work so you can use air conditioning. An automatic tranny would be useful and...uh...uh... uh...err... uh...you could buy a Honda Fit for one-fourth the cost...where was I?

Why would an American manufacturer invent something that would never sell here?

He has already caved in. The dinette set is already in the new home with KP's balls proudly displayed as the centerpiece.

If Harley comes out with a 3-wheel softail then I'm sure they will sell chrome plated tablets of Viagra that you will drop in the tank to change it into a hard-tail.
