Since the Buell is fouling plugs again this might be the hot ticket...

You got one more chance Mr. XB9SX or it's an orange bike for me.

gabe ... your writing is getting really, really good. visiting san fran must be good for your soul.

thx for the super evaluation.

i predict a super-motard revolution. what is really happening is that people are discovering bikes can be both fun and comfortable.

us older guys knew it all along.

That's a good review. I just can't see $14k+ otd. I think that may be $3k too high with the current Speed Triple and Monster S2R 1000 at $9999. Oh, and a tach would be nice. Maybe a 2005 KTM Adventure and a set of excel wheels would be a good use of $14k.

Thanks for the write-up, Gabe. I have a 620 SM and will probably buy a 950 or 990 next year.

Default Why do they even try??

"Some buffoon on an open-piped Harley something-or-other came roaring up behind me to do his I'm-a-badass-because-I-have-a-"Hell's Angels Frisco"-sticker-on-my-windshield-roar-past-you thing, so I dropped a gear and twisted Mr. Throttle, turning Johnnie Goatee into a rapidly-shrinking angry black dot in the KTM's blurry mirror. Why do those guys even try, anyway? Do they crave humiliation? "

I have had this happen several times on my 04 XB12S Buell, Mr. Harley badass or Mr. Mustang / Camaro / Vette thinks they are bad ass and going to cut me off by out running me to the next light or turn off. Sorry guys, but it ain't happin!!

I'll tell you why they do it again and again, because when I'm on the Buell, (I'm 6'2") and a large person is on the KTM 950 Supermoto they look to be like a 1. Small gutless bike that a stock Honda Civic can mess with or 2. THey think they may be some kind of off-road gutless bike.

Both these bikes will flat out rock off the line!

You gotta love that!!

I think that these guys simply have no experience with motorcycles that have horsepower to weight ratios of 7 pounds/hp or less. Very few cars have a ratio of less than 12 pounds/hp. Even the new 300hp Lexus and such have +10lbs/hp. These drones watch commercials, listen to salesmen, read Car&Driver and come away thinking that their fancy overrated cages can out-perform motorcycles.

The average naked standard or sportbike simply blows cars away. Even my 85 ironhead Sporster (ported heads and S&S Carb) had no trouble humiliating "performance cars" on the street. There's simply no contest. You have to spend in the area of $150,000 to find a car with the acceleration and braking of a bike like an FZ1, Speed Triple, Hayabusa. The bikes that some people call beginners bikes like SV650s will easily humiliate expensive cages.

Suits! If you can't afford MacLaren F1s then don't bother. Get Camrys. Leave the motorcycles alone, suits.

I dunno, my '94 RX7 TT was scary fast, and it cost around 30 grand. Was as much fun as a bike (when not stuck in traffic).

You're right though, hell I drag race cars on my Suzuki 90, and can do pretty good up till around 45 or so.

They probly just like to see sport bike guys rise to the bait, blast off, and get a ticket. Tee hee...

Akin to saying here, anybody who votes Republican must be an idiot.

Wait for it...
