Had a 950 Adventure. The SM is what I was waiting for. I'll still wait for the 990 version, though. If the Big Four don't come out w/something better before then...

Default Man Purse? Man Purse?!?

Man Purses (Men Purse?) are small and have no staps. My bag is large and has a strap. It is a messenger bag and in fact, you said (in December 2005):

"these messanger bags are an alternative I am going look at... "

Starting an "alternative lifestyle", are we? Is the great prophet discovering a lighter, more feminine side to his personality? Are we going to get cooking and decorating tips from the artist-formerly-known-as-kpaul?

Default You will wait a long time...

The big four would NEVER build a bike like this! It would be watered-down, unless there was some kind of racing class with global interest that would spur development. Otherwise, the bikes would be watered-down and not so raw.

The DL1000 comes to mind. A great bike, but too heavy and squooshy to be in the same league as this bike or a motard HP-2 (for which I would donate one of Pete's kidneys to ride.)

It would be worth every penny of the $13,000, in my opinion. It looks FAR more comfortable than a sportbike or a cruiser. Plus it has a distinctive style. If I could buy any bike without considering price, my skill level, gas mileage, or insurance...this would be on the short list.

KTM is also bringing over the 640 Adventure this year. It has almost as much charisma as the supermoto, and it is much more practical.

I think that KTM/Victory will be a very strong competitor in the future.

Nice writeup Gabe. For me the big news in your article is that the Super Duke is coming to these shores soon. Hope you asked Scuderia West to let you test that one too.

Oh, digging up the 19 month old post is fantastic.

Default I'm following you.

CW has a "computer illustration" of a Honda FMX 1000 in the August magazine.(pg. 30) Think KTM 950SM made by honda with the VTR/RC51 motor. This is about the third or so time I have seen the same hypothetical bike from different sources.

Check it out.
