Thank you! I thought it was me. I ran out of gas one so every time the reserve gas light comes on I stop. I usually only need 2.5 - 3.0 gallons of gas.

As a successful professional/husband/father I can tell you that I am the farthest thing from insecure. I like the character of v-twins; however, most of them don't generate enough torque to pull a greased string out of a cat's ass. I am a large man @ 6'1'' and 260lbs(and I'm in excellent shape). I like powerful motorcycles. My wife is an athletic 5'10'' @140lbs. Try passing anything heading up a hill with that kind of load on anything less than my VTX. And I'm pretty sure there's not a sportbike out there that she and I can ride comfortably for a few hundred miles. (sorry for starting that last sentence with "and") So you can see that while possibly small, there is a market for this bike!

Here we go again! All you little bitty fellows out there probably enjoy your sportbikes. Fine! Have fun! We riders of the large variety won't be "flicking" around anything. Who was the last superbike world champion that was better than 6'2'' and close to 270lbs?...I'm waiting...Thought so. I like v-twins and I like straight line dragging and cruising the highways with my lovely wife holding on tight! My new VTX meets all my requirements for room, power, highway stability, and long range cruising comfort.

You two, while mildly entertaining, should stop crapping in the sandbox and play nice. Let's talk motorcycles!!! I think we can all agree that we're here simply because we ALL love the feeling of riding bikes. We all have different tastes/opinions. If we didn't differ at all, these threads would be reduced to meaningless redundant prattle. Now, I think I'll go take a leak.

I ran out too (I knew I was close). I've been getting about 100-125 miles per tank, with mostly highway miles. When I ran out, I was just shy of 145 miles.

Got my new VTX on 5-5-01. Remember that new C-5 corvette commercial where a guy smokes a cigar and after seeing the car says.." I gotta get me one of these"..well...don't ride the VTX.....if ya do you will want one. The bike is more than my words can ever describe. From the looks to the performance its what all are talking about. One bad ass cruiser. The gas mileage is better than I had hoped....running about 38.6 right now. The power is something else to experience. New pipes from Cobra should be ready around July, angled slashcuts are what I choose. This bike draws attention everwhere I have taken it. My thanks to the Honda team for a work of art and raw performance.

So how far did you get before E time? I'm still seeing my reserve light come on @ about 80 miles. Maybe I should coat my fat ass in baby oil to reduce drag LOL! Or maybe lose 50 lbs or so.

Excursions are too small.
