You can easily modify the stock exhaust to look exactly the same but be really freakin loud... and it will be really hard to tell from visual inspection.

Lots of guys who are just trying to be loud seem to do this. It's probably horrible in terms of performance gains but it gets them their attention.

Seems like we're all agreed about the problem. Thank heavens for a collective intelligence among motorcyclists!

Problem is, what are we going to do about selfishness, in a Darwinian world? That's a bit tougher!

If we were dealing with motorcyclists, we could reason - but it seems we're dealing with boors on bikes, quite a different group

If your "demographic or rider group" doesn't give a sh1t about doing things for others, don't badmouth someone else for doing it.

And when those fat guys are done making their loud noise (for the weekend), they go home to their 5 bdr 3.5 bath with the Volvo SUV or Humvee in the garage and take off their tuff guy costume to soak in bath oils before heading back to their real lives come Monday morning, because they surely don't ride the commute on their 'hog'. It's only use is to add cubic inches to their short schlongs.

And, at the office espresso bar the next morning, John says to ****, we saw you on your Motorsickle yesterday and boy was that loud! my wife hated, but I want one!

"Then get an aftermarket horn, genius. It's the first thing I do with a new bike."

Classic - I love it! Probably to logical, however....

There are a lot of good points. As long as the after market is making big money off all the excessories and rallies, no law is going to stop it. It's about money and nothing else. If property values drop where motorcycles go than maybe we will see some action.

Cigs, booze and all the other fun stuff we like that kills us is fine too. Because of money and because a hell of a lot of people like it. So goes the world. Make your own choices. I smoked got cancer, almost died and quit. No law saved me from that agony and no law will stop loud bikes. Common sense is what we need. But there are a lot of us without it.

Oh, by the way no one I know quit smoking. That is F'd up wouldn't you say.
