These rides for kid things are only an excuse to get together for a big group ride with other poseurs where they can gawk at each others machinery and attract attention to themselves....."hey look, I'm a big bad biker". I don't think they care any more than any other demographic or rider group. C'mon how many stuffed animals can a hospital need? If you want to make a difference, volunteer at the hospital or cut a check for the childrens ward or contribute to much needed equipment.

"One Harley Fat Boy, one Harley Softail, two Kawasaki Vulcans, a Yamaha Road Star and a Honda VTX"

Isn't that 6 motorcycles?

Anyway, I agree about the loud pipes.

well i think he counted the fatboy and the softail twice, because the wondrous thunder coming from each cylinder, the chrome, and the REAL metal bodywork undoubtly doubled the presence of the bike...

on the other hand...

the horrible imitation harley fart-like cacophony of noise emitted from the other bikes was almost worth half of an offering from milwaukee...

(I think Fred was being generous so he rounded up to 1)

so 2*2+1=5

Actually, the slogan with a Ducati ought to be "Loud clutches save lives."

Something about the pipes and the cam profiles on Ducati makes a sound that almost no one dislikes. The Harley after market makers and buyers should look into whatever Ducati does before we all have to stick with 80 dbA exhausts, no matter what the brand.

I am surprised he didn't work a Suzuki cruiser into the mix.

I agree.

The US isn't so badly off, financially. Those trillions of dollars in debt that are growing so rapidly could be easily be taken care of if they simply stopped paying more on their military than all other nations combined. Ramp back down to the same rate as the rest and, voila, money to burn.

When the debt gets bad enough, it will happen.
