I'd very much like to learn where Kook lives, too.

Ain't that the truth. You should hear the local LE's when they have their yearly group ride here each summer.

I think the general public's opinion is pretty bad. I just left a store yesterday and as I was getting ready to start the bike, a mother and her young daughter of about 4 years old walk in front of my bike. The girl covers her ears and tells her mom "Loud Mommy, Loud"

I was riding the BMW RT and started laughing out loud (pun intended). Told the mother as I started the bike, this one isn't loud!

Ha! Please, go on and continue to encourage a pointless (to all but the ego-challenged), obnoxious behavior that we'll all suffer for eventually.

Frankly, I think people with exceptionally loud pipes look (sound) like insecure, pathetic a$$clowns. Even more troubling, their bikes sound like sh*t.

Daggum! How long do people take to change lanes where you're from? Around here in central Arkansas if someone starts to change lanes on you, your friend won't have time to pull up next to you to make a lot of noise before you're converted into a bloody, greasy mess; especially if you were just "slowly" passiong cars. You just have to know how to ride in the first place.

Default KPaul and Longride do a cross-country ride ...

Will it be "Easy Rider" or "The Thing With Two Heads" ?

Thank you, Fred. I am an avid rider and try to use my 1150RT very possible work day, rain, heat, real Wisconsin cold. I quit riding on weekends simply because I am embarassed in the manner you were at the restaurant. No problem, I love to garden and lounge around anyway. Unfortunately, I live within 100 yds of a highway. There is now a steady weekend stream of extremely loud V-twins from morning 'til sunset. It's not like a normal traffic drone to which one can become immune; it's annoying as %^&*.

I sometimes stop at a little country (gasp) bar on my way home from work. The owner and a lot of patrons are Harley riders with loud bikes. If I rode one of THOSE machines past their place on my way TO work at 6AM, they'd probably shoot at me.

Regards,

Dave

P.S. I love the sound of a well tuned Duc or RC51 as much as the next person. Seems like most those folks know the limits of politeness.
