there is a sonng in "The Fiddler On The roff" called "If I were A Rich Man". And if I was I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Ever see the road trip an actor named Ewan MacGregor took with his friend. Used 2 R1200GS Adventures. They never had a problem and had a blast.

Hey, Seruzawa, want to loan a few thousand. Like about $18,000? I promise I'll pay it back.

You are dead-on with respect to actual HP.

I've got an '05 non-Adventure GS. I'm so much faster on this thing than on my '00 Sprint ST, it's ridiculous. Don't buy it if you have any illusions of slowing down ... what it lacks in power it makes up for in handling.

I want to like these things, but I still like my '93 R100GS-PD better. Lighter, simpler, holds a little more gas, not as much power but still has plenty. And paid for.
