That is true. My buddy's rear tire is shot after 1500 miles and that is without smoky burnouts.

The ZX-14 sounds like a great sport tourer. Where are the hard bags and antilock braking?

I hear they will be available in Europe, why not North America?

BTW: what are insurance rates on this bike?

Default 1999 model is the fastest

I think people say the 99 is the fastest because in 00-on Suzuki stuck a speed limiter (albeit easily bypassed) on the busa in response to some poor schmucks splatting themselves into oblivion @ 180+, but I could be wrong.

Nice article, thanks. I doubt I could ever get one of these babies because I think I would lose my license the first day riding it (or splat myself into oblivion).

I wonder how much of the subjectively better Hybusa handling is due to it's more dedicated riding position? The more the racer croutch with the attendent weight and 'push' on the bars I've found there is a sense of more control.

Problem with Kawi waiting so long to make this bike is that within a year or three rather than seven Suzuki will be able to come out with something that's 'more'. Especially if the Busa is still this close to the 14, then I don't see that the step would have to be too big to be even if not better.

Default Bottom Dwelling

I am sure bottom dwelling in news thread. That was an insightful and well balanced article. It's amazing how well the 'Busa has held up. I love mine. I think it is my favorite bike. I am 5'6" tall. and I love the low seat height of the 'Busa. I love it's very usuable mid-range power, and comfort. It handles so smooth, and predictably. The bike has such smooth instantaneous torque at highway speeds. I feel like a shepherd herding a"video game like" endless flock of cars. Yeah, it goes there.
