You really think that.. I think that's a ways off. The government information systems are way behind private industry.. Hell Homeland Security can't inform the airport security personnell of folks on a watch list...

We will at least have the manufacturers on our side. This will absolutely KILL sales, as people will keep the old ones running as long as possible and not buy the vehicles that " spy '' on you.

Excellent Point.. That's why I don't it will happen in the U.S. If it does it will be a data recorder (fight recorder like thing)system on board that can be downloaded . No an expensive real-time big brother monitoring system that the author seems to think is around the corner..
