Default A face only a mother could love and the death of the Boxer Twin continues

Excellent Review.. Ugly and expensive... It's kind of cool BMW is around to make odd looking bikes i.e. certainly not boring..I like the Boxer touring bike...Nice photos.. I think the Germans need to hire some Italian designers...

It's your Italian sense of style Buz... you can't help it.. For me it's the overengineering thing that gets to me.

The GS I get, as it provides both versatility and practicality. I even happen to be an advocate of the standard bike ergonomics as I too am relatively tall. The K1200R however is just too big, heavy, expensive, and weird looking for me to appreciate it.

Yeah Gabe, but the Viper roadster is pleasing to look at.

I object to your comments. Nobody is worse than Harley snobs. It isn't even a contest!

"The K1200R is a bike you can ride for hours--days--without getting fatigued, while providing a special experience that will endear the bike to you if you successfully bond with it." And for the rest of you non-bonderers, you are stuck with an over expensive, overly complicated bike that only BMW aristocratic mechanics can work on. And when something isn't quite right with how it runs you will be condensendely told that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and that no one else on earth has made a similar complaint, actung!

I've never owned a BMW but have ridden them. I wish my Buell Uly had an auto suspension adjustment that would allow me to lower it so my feet would be flat on the ground.

Is there such a thing as an Ural snob ? That would be a challenge. For me I would have to get over the looks of the 1200R to buy one, even if I could afford it. If you think it looks wierd now, wait five years. Personally I like the plastic wrapped go fast look, in Red ..... oh ya baby........
