The difference is, I can access the MO forums at work. M-USA's forms are blocked.

Yes! The article says how sweet the Triumph sounds, but then we don't get to hear the sound! C'mon guys, you aren't MCN or Bike World, you're on the net!

I know. I also am 99% certain there will be a Speed 675 announced sometime in the next 9 months.

Its inevitable.

Get the Daytona. It looks cooler, and not every squidboy has one...

Dave Moss is as good a suspension tuner as the factory guys. If anything, he's probably better than Joe Random Factory Representative. He does a lot of setup work for professional racers.

Especially on the Triumphs he is a real expert, having raced the Daytona 600 in AFM and even as a privateer in AMA.

The title says "Middleweight," not "600cc displacement.

It doesn't matter what the engine displacement is, as far as I'm concerned. As long as the bike weighs about the same as its "competitors," it belongs. It could have a 1500cc engine in it, and if the engineering team was brilliant enough to harness the power with a sufficiently strong, light chassis, it would be a legitimate comparison.

To me, the main metrics for comparison are:

1. How big is it?

(e.g. weight, dimensions, payload capability)

2. How does it perform?

(e.g. acceleration, deceleration, lateral maneuvering, fuel consumption)

3. How much does it cost?

(e.g. acquisition cost, life-cycle cost)

Engine displacement is irrelevant, unless you're in the organized racing game.
