Great stuff Gabe...Good Questions... "I never did any of that stuff. We just rode." Love that...line.."Just seat time" right.... I agree Gabe there is more than that....he is so modest...The Hayden question was a good one..why aren't there more Americans in GP racing? I think we Americans are just to fat dumb and happy now and there is so much other stuff for kids to do X-Box, PlayStation, etc. Instead of taking your kid riding you buy him motoGP...Versus the Europeans kids who still use motorcycles and scooters for transportation. Just my crack pot theory. Lots of Aussies still around though not too much at the GP level..

Thanks for that. I have always found Eddie to be one of the most personable champions. He doesn't have a "chip" on his shoulder. He just rides, and he is just another one of the guys.

Default That wasn't Kawasaki

Most experts blame that on a huge asteroid impact.

Now, the Z-Rex is another story.

Americans have never been too concerned with motorcycle roadracing, although I would argue that even then, it's down from where it once was. Kids just wanna buy their sportbikes to go wheelie and sit around the lake trying to pick up chicks, not to get on the track and really learn how to ride. I am thankful that I can now look upon them with utter disdain, but by all means, let the squids keep buying and destroying them, thereby keeping those companies profitable and the new revisions coming.

It might also have something to do with the fact that a weekend of club racing, even in the lightweight class where you only go through one set of tires a weekend, costs about a grand. Not too many people are willing and able to blow a grand a month racing.

i wonder if having an american manufacturer who built racing bikes would do anyting for it? just throwing that out there...

with all the riders riding bikes not of their nationality, this might not be a good theory, but it couldn't help but generate some interest, eh?

Great surprise - nice interview with the champ. Lawson is a true champion and a positive role model on and off the track. Sports in general could use more Lawson's.
