Re: Paris Bike Show

How long until Triumph phases out the Speed Four and introduces a 675cc version of the Speed Triple? I say 2007.

Re: Info on the Deauville...

75hp compared to 65hp not about equal. In addition to weight difference. Still plenty of power though.

I must admit its about the fugliest "performance" bike Ive seen, ever. Looks twice as long as my mile long K12RS, with the tail section seeming very dated. But who knows, may look a better in the flesh.

The hair was meant to distract us from noticing that the ZZR1400 is the Edsel of motocycles.

VStrom 650 doesn't claim more than 70 hp at the crank (it gets about 60 to the rear wheel).

It's downtuned about 10hp compared with the SV donor.

This is the last year of the S4. A baby S3 is almost certainly coming next year. Ross Clifford from Triumph practically spilled the beans in a recent article about the D675.

It's not just style. Underseat exhausts are great because they make it easier to attach luggage, they greatly increase ground clearance (lean angle), and they protect your exhaust in a spill. That fancy new low-exit exhaust will get crushed if the bike tips over on it.

Heat under the seat can be a problem, but better insulation and carbon cans can help with that. I say the more underseat exhausts, the better.
