![]() Here's what I did.
Bought 1995 KTM620 RXC for $1500 on ebay. RXC's are street legal in all states, but earlier ones have no electric starter, and are cheap. I bought 17" hoops with rims from KTM for about $800. That gets you up and running. I found a caliper adapter and a Duke front disk on ebay for about $50. I used a 620 SX (Motocross) muffler for more punch, and Metzler tires. Don't be afraid to go Austrian! KTM's Rule!

![]() I see from my owners manual that a KLR650 takes 2.3 quarts. Also the recommended oil/filter change interval is 6000 miles, not 3000 as I thought (above). So you might be right about the small oil volume in a Husaberg being linked to frequent change requirements.
Heh, how do you ride your (Husaberg 650e?), i.e., racing, around town etc...? Reliable so far? |

![]() I ride my 2005 FS650E every day to work in SF. It's a 9 mile round trip commute. I also take it up Hwy-1 in Marin which requires 10 minutes on the freeway. It's a bit windy on the highway but no problemo.
Longer trips on the highway are less desireable and not comfortable. The seat is narrow and firm and monkey butt can set in quickly. On long rides I take a minute to stand up and relax on the straights. The bike is geared for 120mph but you will surrender before the bike does. Keep a street bike around for the long road trips. That's why I also own a CBR1000RR. |
