I didn't believe it either so I checked Snopes.com. Apparently by inflicting pain it releases adrenaline which tenderizes the meat. There's enough evidance, acording to snopes that the practice is "probably" true in China at least, though against the law.

Default Thanks MO!

We appreciate the hard work that went into this review and hope to answer any questions your readers may have.

We are working hard at updating the web site to list our Hyosungs. We will have all the missing specs and more pictures by the end of the weekend.

Thanks

Very nice story as usual Gabe thanks. Gabe your are my favorite writer by far....Amy Eckhoff's viewpoint was interesting as well. These Korean bikes look like great starter bikes. Too bad Ws unrestrained fiscal irresponsiblity will lead to further devaluation of the dollar especially if the Chinese currency gets unpegged as you rightly point out...Great analysis and story by Sean as well Thanks again MO great scoop on the competition. Relevant and timely...

Sounds like the S. Koreans are on to something. (No, not the dog thing which is just horrible, thank you very much.) For the price, that thing sounds like a pretty good bike. Most of the overseas reviews I've read were very positive with the same nods to a few somewhat-novice manufacturers' flaws (that LCD speedo has to go). Their views were similar to Gabe's in that they said the bike is very comparable to the SV, although I've yet to hear about engine vibration. Most have raved about it.

Hyosung is very willing and quick to make changes to the bikes based on feedback from their distributors. For instance, those adjustable pegs apparently came out of a suggestion from the Canadian distributor. They were changed on the very next production run. Expect to see these bikes get even better in near future. The liter version should be interesting.

Alas, I agree the big issue is Hyosung/Alphasports' almost nonexistent dealer "network" in the U.S. They'll have to fix this fast. Glad to hear they seem to have at least one good dealer in KC. Many thanks to them, too.
