I recommend a quick trip through the Acerbis catalog for a big tank. Baja Designs is also a nice place for dual sporters to visit. Serious dual sports, not the foo-foo kind.

Some mighty pretty scenery Martin. Do you have a license plate for the XR? If so bring it out here to No. Cal. sometime. VWW

Great advice. I happen to have a desert tank for the XR that holds nearly 5 gallons but it still isn't enough for this ride unless you coast down all of the hills.

That I will definitely do. Thanks for all of your help this week. Sorry I didn't have more time to chat. We will make the time for a ride soon.

Yeah, but here for $11.95 you can be really stupid and generally we don't care.

Sounds like a great ride. Nothing better than a good coast race. I suck at it but I've got some riding buddies who can fly down a mountain with the engine off, conserve serious speed through the turns and get right back to going fast. It scares the crap out of everthing you approach, so I recommend a horn. There is no noise except for the chain spinning and the tires crunching dirt. But, I do think you are wise to carry spare gas.
