After careful consideration it is apparent to me that the best solution is for us to get together as motorcyclists and shamelessly LIE about our fuel mileage. My ZRX, for example, regularly gets about 86 MPG. I hear those ViFFers get 100+MPG. I believe that we may wage "Our Campaign of Dis-Information" with clear consciences as we are potentually creating an opportunity for Consumer Satisfaction. Because we ride a motorcycle we are considered "Experts" by non-riders!

Stand Firm! Take Heart! The Brave and Hardy All that comprise Motorcycledom, Our Cause is Just... and with the ever increasing cost of fuel (that will SURELY happen) Victory will be Ours!

Nobody's ever gonna believe my Brutale gets anything close to 86 mpg. I'm too often seen in gas stations!

Don't worry those who are actually concerned about gas prices can't afford a Brutale.

I think we need to endlessly mock our fellow riders who take their precious bikes out only on nice days. We must ride in all weather (ok, except when there's ice out). We must ride to work every day possible.

Set the example. Always speak of the joy/benefits of riding to anyone who will listen. Explain how squids/Village People aren't real riders and why the public should laugh at them. Encourage new riders to get the proper training/bike/gear.

Be a leader. Project an image of competent strength. Slowly the public perception will change.
