I had brought that up before, why don't the manufacturers sell to the public a race ready bike (no light etc...). Sean said (if my memories right) that they do provide such bikes to established teams. Plus the insurance cost to the manuf. would probably be astronamical to them, if they sold to the public.

Thats my theory as to why the performance parts manuf. don't want to make these bikes for anyone. They can sell you all the parts you want, for you to put on the bike. It's your responsibility then if you race and hurt yourself.

Default Those were leathers?

As tight as they are fitting these days I thought Sean was wearing a wetsuit.

The poor cow.

You mean poor cow(s), as in many.

Wow, what an awesome story! Nice going, Sean. MO is kicking butt!

And I always laugh when I see at the top of a story something like "Story by Sean Alexander. Photos by kawasaki." They'd be SO much better off letting Fonzie shoot the pics. Great work Fonz!

Here's a chucke: in pit lane you were chanting, "it's not a race.... crashes are forbidden!" Then probably somewhere in turn 5 you were temped by, "The brakes are super-strong and offer excellent feel. This makes late-braking and trail-braking second nature and allows the racer to concentrate on line selection, traffic and most importantly, passing everything in sight."

Great work, Sean and Fonz.

That would run a person more around 30K I believe. If I'm correct though, the 2005 999s is the 2004 999r.

Great Kung-Fu Movie voiceover you did on the narration video! It was like you were almost speaking the real words!

In all seriousness, outstanding article once again by Sean.

Great article, but the video really could do with a higher framerate - even at the expense of some artifacting because all sensation of speed is lost at 8fps. At least go 15fps.
