Well, not the Speed 4, but the Bonneville? Yeah: It's got classic & classic looks, far better than cruiser handling (still very sluggish compared to a modern standard, but still), and actually has more Poser Cred than a metric cruiser.

Oh, and the reason I said Vstrom is there was a link to the VStrom review in the article's end!

Your weight concerns are well justified. 650 V-Star is 92 lbs heavier and 7.4" longer. This sounds a lot, but to compensate it has 2.5" lower seat height. I calculated my in-seam is 43% of my height => you can be 5.8" shorter to ride V-Star than EX500. If you consider you´d be that much taller, or shorter, well that is like a lot.

See man, you DO write well. Funny, informative, well reasoned. Don't be afraid of the pen Fonzie. You've got the goods.

Speaking of which...

Since Fonzie is the resident cruiser officianado at MO, why the hell isn't he writing some part of this article? No offense Gabe, you hold your mud well, but there should have at least been a "Fonzie's Take" on this article. Afterall, he has a natural affinity for these things.

Or why not just get a metric-cruiser and slap some Harley Davidson decals on it? You think the chicks will ever figure that out? Most people won't.

If so, that makes me quite uncomfortable, especially if it's in conjunction with my a$$.

Actually its probably not Gabe's fault. Back in my MO days, I could always tell where SA had edited my stuff, because he would actually insert grammar errors and misspellings into my otherwise pristine creations.

It can always get worse though. Robb Report Motorcycling had a very consistent approach to editing my pieces. They just stripped away any semblance of humor, personality, or personal insight, left the ***** you could have read on the website and wrote me a big fat check for the drek they actually printed. Go figure.
