I already ride the best all around bike. After 40 years of riding and a bunch of different bikes, my Honda Valkyrie was like getting a shot of motorcycle adrenalin. I already loved bikes, now I am passionate about this one.

What a concept! Take the, almost bullet proof, Gold WIng 1500 engine, soup it up a little (hotter cams and such) and put it in a Cruiser frame. It is the smoothest, most powerful yet comfortable ride imaginable. It has an almost cult following, with the Valkyrie RIders Cruisers Club (VRCC) having a 20,000+ membership.

Honda admits, they discontinued it because numbers were down. It seems most were intimidated by it in the showroom, with that hugh car-like engine between their legs. Yet any dealer will tell you, if they could get a person to take a test ride...it was sold. The low center of gravity makes the bike handle like a sport bike above 5 MPH.

I challenge everyone to find one, ride it, and tell me I'm wrong.

we just need the Buell to have the Mille engine in it. V60 vs V52. That can't be hard. With the absurdo-reducto tail, a center-up exhuast would be fine if the underbelly one couldn't be managed.

This is like having nothing to do in study hall except dream about motorcycles. Study hall or the cube farm...

Okay, here it is -- Triumph Speedmaster (because of the great ergos that don't hurt this old man's knees)

1000cc vertical twin -- to provide great torque and two-up capability

Belt drive -- because I get weary of chain maintenance

Detachable hard bags -- integrated with the rear fender rails, so I can cruz or tour

Detachable windscreen -- see above

Six speed transmission -- give me an overdrive for the long distance ride, please

Heated grips -- no explanation needed

Progressive shocks and fork springs -- just to keep it all tidy in the corners

That's it -- a bike that will haul you and your pillion all day long, get you into as many conversations as you can tolerate, looks great, has modern tech and old world charm. Tasty!

My brother has one, and I rode it a few times. It does nothing for me.

Only bike:

Honda NT650 Hawk GT...

With full-on suspension mods, corbin seat, bigger gas tank, VFR rear wheel conversion, 663 or 700cc motor mod by Hord, pipe/jet/filter, couple of extra sets of wheels with track tires on one set, ice-screw studded knobbies on another.

Out dated? The most recent world championship was won with a 1911.

That's like calling the bike that won MotoGP, outdated.
