Default Holt on thar, Chango!

You might not have a track, but you sure-as-hell have some windy roads.

I've been thru the Ozarks; and half the times I saw break lights, ahead...They Were Mine!

Of course, I also saw just-about every manner-of critter, known to science (and, I few I'd bet aren't) cross in front of my lights, too. But, if you could survive, it'd probably be kinda fun.

A B-Last would be a great bike for track school.

Just, remember, you're the one who's gotta try'n sleep with your wife, if you wreck her toy!

Default I've been wondering...

Since you did the words on the piece, I figured to hunt-down your last Post and ask you a question...

Over the years, I've read numerous track day accounts (by various sources) and, while I've found them entertaining and informative, I think there's something I'd still like to see...

How 'bout an A/B blind experiment?

Ya take two spuids (of equal incompetence) and on the same week end, ya send one to a track day and the other to track school (without Squid-A knowing about Squid-B).

Then, next weekend, ya dump 'em both out at a track day, and see who gets dusted!

Whaddya think?

Load your wrecked bike in the back of the truck, drive down the highway 50 miles from the track, throw out the back, you're covered!

Default Somethin I remember...

One thing I always told my kids about competition...

Always keep your mouth shut, and never-ever talk trash! Besides being extremely crass, it's the last-thing you want to be thinking about, when you're behind. No sense shootin off you foot, by shootin off you mouth. Never let your mouth write checks, because somebody else might be cashing them, later.

Myself, not having any gifts; I've always been amazed how humble the truly talented, tend to be.

I think that you would never get that past the human subjects committee here at the U.

I've gotta get me a couple of those! (Kids, not TTR's, which I do like (meaning TTR's...and kids)).

I agree wholeheartedly that playing in the dirt is some of the best fun to be had on a motorcycle. I imagine teaching and riding with your kids makes that statement true in multiples. Plus, it seems all the road racers started out in the dirt and many still ride dirt to keep the skills tuned (although I think it's an excuse because it's so damned much fun )

I read once where Jimmy Lewis said the most fun he and his wife have these days on motorcycles (insert crude joke here) is on a Trials bike. Guess I'll have to try that one day too.

Default Re: Daggum Southern Californians

I was being all whiney about Blackhawk Farms in Rockford, IL being 80 or so miles from Chicago (where IÂ’m signed up for a June tack day/sport riding school). Guess I don't have it so bad. What I will continue to whine about is that it's a straight flat trajectory getting there.
