LOL, I don't know why MO bothers to filter out words like **** and ****. The themes on this board are so raunchy even without four-letter words.

Yeah, Nelson ledges. in Warren, Oh., is my nearest track (120 mi) and my Track-Jones almost had me moving there. The FastTrack school operates outa there, so I figured I could kill-two-birds, and get some-learin' too.

Gimme an AirStream on-blocks parked next-to the track: bike, leathers, food, hot plate, enough money for the gate and the occasional woman, and I'd be happy. Wonder why, I haven't done it yet?

Default the need for speed

Good on you all.

I believe it is impossible to describe the feeling you have the first time you hear your knee scrape the tarmac. my first time, i thought my bike was broken once i learned i slowed down because I was having so much fun wearing out pucks i forgot to do anything else. but you did a great job.

likewise it is impossible to tell people what it's like to grid up the first time, but that's nothing really compared to your first t1 with a gaggle of other wobbling nervouses.

it is expensive to race, but their are ways to do it on a budget. consider the 160 honda class. they have as much fun as anyone. a good raceprepped sv is easy on tires, has cheap parts and a huge number of people to race against. you can pick one up for 3 grand.

if your thinking about it, live in the northwest and don't want to pop for the full track day, here's an idea. go to www.wmrra.com

find out the schedule. pay 20 bucks for the sunday taste of racing. come see me when your done.

my old number was wmrra no. 846. my new number won't been assigned until after Feb 15, but i race a gray ducati. look for the idaho plates on my trailer and a gray bike in the pits.

i am not critical at all of people who decide it just ain't for them. but if you have an inkling, give it a whirl. it is amazing.

Self-congratulation? Nobody's congratulated me yet. I was kind of hoping you would, you being the (former) MO bard and everything.
