...or having to lean your R5 over, with the gas off, while the motor goes "bloo-blappa-bloo" after it loaded up at a busy traffic signal.

Oh jeez, you had an R5 too? How did you like it when one cylinder quit while going about 75 down the Hollywood Fwy in heavy traffic? Always a fun time trying to get over to what passes for the right shoulder.

Never leave home without a pocketful of spark plugs.

But it sure was fun eating Triumph 650s for breakfast.

Awesome! Now Honda and Yamaha take notice. Imagine this with an engine from a CBR1000RR or R1...mmmmmm. or VFR, RC51, GSXR, etc.

Norton took cues from Schwinn also. Remember the Hi-Rider?

Yes. WasnÂ’t that bike some convoluted attempt to cash in on the "Easy Rider" craze sweeping the US of A, back in '69?

Yes, mine was a '71, white tank, purple stripes. It had a clutch like a toggle switch.

EC Burt at Performance Cycles in Lawndale Ca. ported the beejeezuz out of it, and fabricated some neat chambers. Made it only worse, though. Now, on top of almost looping the damn thing all the time, it would get hot, and load-up.

But man, when it was cold to luke-warm, nothing could touch it. Like a rocket sled.
