I've ridden one. A better dirt bike, but not a better all arounder. VWW

Sure, it's expensive. But by the time you buy a cheaper "competitor," throw money at it to improve the suspension, power, etc., etc., you're a bit closer to the price. And then when you get bored of it a couple years later and flog it to get yet another "cheaper" bike, you've already spent more than you would have on the GS.

Try the KTM 950 before buying. The GS is a better tourer but that 950 feels like an XR 650 with a 916 duc cramed in it. I'm so torn...

Ever backed your car down a hill with the engine off? Same thing, brakes work but you gotta push, or pull as the case may be. Engine on, 1 finger can stop you plenty, but I use 2...

I really like how BMW has updated this bike. I could never own one though because the boxer twin makes the most god-awful flatulent sound in all of motorcycling.

I know, but if I had said: "All the wiener we could eat" people would have laughed at me.

It cost money to drink good whiskey and ride the train.

I'm sort of at a loss to explain why you or I get lambasted by ZRX_Buttock for "making millions of dumb posts" when dikhed here posts about half the posts on any given thread. Especially since all the dikhed's posts are based on imaginary motorcycling.

Something about this class of bike intrigues me. I really used to hate the SUVs of the motorcycle kingdom, but I guess their growin' on me, like some sort of fungus. I still don't get it though. Why the need to take a perfectly good street bike off-road? Dirt is dirty and can make a clean motorcycle filthy, yuck! Oh well, people buy Pontiac Azteks and Chevy Avalanches. Build it and someone will buy it.

I can verify this above statement. I would've laughed at him. But then... he doesn't give a crap if I laugh him.
