I haven't used my turn signals since the day the rain ruined my switch some months ago. I've found that if I ride as if I'm completely invisible, it really doesn't come into play. That's a good idea anyhow.

So yeah, hack them things off. I've never been pulled over here in socal for 'em not working.

Funny, on some days around here, everybody else seems to drive as if I am totally invisible.

I'm in NY, so I'm not sure the police have the same attitude. Although, they really don't seem to bother with motorcycles too much unless you're a total squid.

Now that is what I have been looking for!

I have only two questions:

How much?

and

Where can I get one?

If it's under 10k(which I doubt) I may trade my SV1K in for one!!!

Considering that we can park them on the sidewalks, lane split, use loud pipes (extremely annoying, specially when it's some 50cc scooter that pumps out 200 db at a whopping 27km/h), violate the helmet law and the police don't bat an eye, I don't think non-reg turn signals would be too big a deal around here.

Although I agree with you that not using them, specially in the city, can be an invitation to a T-bone party and a ride in that ever so entertaining vehicle with all those red lights, the built in bed and the nice chap with the stethescope who will let you play with the siren if you are nice (and not dead).

Spain sounds like paradise. At least for motorcycles.

NY? Ok, I retract my recommendation. There's hardly a two-story building in my city, so as bad as the traffic seems, it can't possibly be as thick as yours.

Yes, usually glazed and/or creme filled.

I don't live in the City or work there anymore. I'm strictly suburban now. But you wouldn't believe the traffic anyway. Nothing worse than the legion of soccer moms in 5000 lb. vehicles, mid-life crisis BMW/Porsche/Mercedes hoards, and any number of assorted inconsiderate, lousy-driving, barbarians. So, I like to signal my intentions.

On a side note: The thing that bothers me most is the "I feel safe and secure in my huge SUV, so damn everybody else" attitude that many have taken. Too many people are already bad enough drivers. Now they're bad, lazy and overly confident.

Thanks, I feel better now.
