The reason 90 degree V twins are best is that the engine is inherently balanced for less vibration. A parallel twin can either be 180 degrees or 360 degrees either of which is less desirable as far as vibration goes. V twins can be a narrower profile as well, also the same crank journals and counter weights can be used for both cylinders

As I was saying when I pressed "Enter" by mistake, if you want to pick up chicks without spending more than $2.00, buy a can of Campbell's soup or Coca-Cola or something of that size and put it in the front of your pants...

Let's see...

H-D XL1200S Sportster Sport - retro/cruiser

Triumph T-Bird Sport - sports retro

Triumph Bonneville - retro

Moto Guzzi Jackal - cruiser

BMW R1150R - not cruiser, not that retro, but I can't STAND the R1200C!!!!!

Honda Magna - cruiser

Yamaha V-MAX - POWER CRUISER!

Kawasaki ZRX1200 - POWER RETRO!

Kawasaki W650 - Retro.

All of them (with the possible exception of the R1150R) are cruisers or retro bikes with at least a of power, or handling, or both.

With an MSRP of *only $4 more than the monster at $9999, i think you should also throw in the *value bike* left out.....the RC51. Sure, its got a few more ponies, but hey, its within 5 bucks of the monster.

>>>the S model wouldn't exactly qualify as an R model.<<<<

Actually, either SV would qwualify to have the "R" monniker since these things are raced like crazy. Go to a track some time and see what the young racers are on. SV650s, Ninja 500s, and old Hawk GTs.
