Amazing that we don't have some kind of national roadside service for this kind of stuff.

The last time I rode in Italy (I used to do it every summer when I was stationed in Europe), I had a flat on the Autostrada. Now, I had the equipment to fix it, but I wimped out and used the roadside telephone (1 per kilometer) to call for assistance. I was picked up by a truck within 20 minutes, who took me to a tire dealer nearby. This was late on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily, most tire dealers in Europe are equipped to handle bikes. The young lad at the dealership changed my tube for $10.

I asked the tow truck driver what the charge for the lift was. No charge for out of country plated vehicles. How nice.

We should have this kind of service here in the states.

Yeah but you get a lot more signal to noise here. Plus you get this forum. Really, that's the only reason I subscribe.

Well, if you're willing to put up with 20% unemployment and have 50-60% of your income confiscated in taxes I'm sure we could!
