They'd just tune it down like they did w/the Royal Star and take the teeth out of it (though I imagine the teeth could be added back in??).

I thought the V-max motor came from the original Venture line (or some other touring rig) anyway?

Default WAAY More Than Any 600

Check out the dyno graphs. Mr. Max has both more HP and torque than my R1 up to 7000 rpm. And the R1 isn't exactly boring to ride.

At 3000 rpm, Max has 40/70(!) HP/LBft and the R1 has 30/52.

At 7000 rpm, Max has 76/102 and the R1 has 70/90.

Of course, eventually the R1 will run away and hide. Until the next stoplight.

I've been checking the used market and may find one of these for a killer price. Aftermarket stuff is really cool, and you can really get these things to run. Is four bikes too many Buz? LOL Oh, by the way, your girlfriend is still chasing you around.

I doubt Yamaha will ever change this beast because of the economics you talked about. Is there a market for an updated version? Probably no more than for this one so they just leave it alone. Buyers determine through their mods which direction they take this bike. It's kind of like everyone crying for a sportbike from Harley. They want em to build it so they could cry it's too expensive, too heavy, too slow, or the wrong color and they won't buy it. Unless Yamaha could build a cruiser faster than an R1, more comfortable than a Gold Wing and handles like a 600 for 7,999, I'm afraid it's market will always be limited. Long live the Max.

You buy one and I'll ride yours! I'll pay for the gas being the generous fellow that I am.

I'm a role model for the youth of America and if I can point a 13 year old boy in the right direction I'm all for it.

The direction for him would be a therapist.

If it's already a standard then why is it always compared and tested with cruisers?

Screw that chain drive BS and underseat exhaust, Mr. Max isn't a sportbike.

Man, E. Bass is one ugly dude. Couldn't you guys find a female to pose with the bike instead?
