Default Video

Would have loved to have viewed the video, but cannot watch it from my Mac. Too bad. I would have preferred the much superior Quicktime format.

"Smokin' up them trails, leaving Polaris Indies in yer wake. Heh heh" I'm not sure thats realistic. Given a the horsepower advantage of the indies (approx 500cc = 100 bhp 800cc = 140bhp), combined with the variable clutch and lighter weight of a two stroke. I think yamaha's Four stroke makes about 150 BHP. That might smoke the indies.

Yeah but a cat can go places that a snowmobile will just sink into. It'd still be cool.

Default Re: Ghezzi & Brian Furia

Call me crazy, as I won't research it before I post, but I recall reading about the Ghezzi and Brian long befor the new Buell came out. Maybe everybody's influenced by Honda's NAS??

Default 18 per 1000?

OK, you made me take out my calculator, collect some data and I was right...

All air cooled ducatis are around 3650 @ 60.

Current v11's (with 6 speed box) are 3500 @ 60

1100 BMW's are 3500 @ 60, 3800 for the R850R (6 speed too).

the only bikes to be in the 3200 @ 60 that i found were the 999R and MG California....I couldnt find gearing data for H-D's it'd be lower still I guess.

Could it be that the Veglia clocks in your LM II were a bit off? I wouldnt be surprised

In standard/naked bikes you might over gear from ideal ratio for top speed by 5%. In the Furia it was more like 10% over.

Cheers

Yossef
