Impressive. KTM have really snuck up on us - well some of us anyway. They really seem to know what they are doing. Racing is a big part of what they are all about and it seems to be a good strategy. Triumph, Buell take notice!!

Default My Adventure

I purchased an advenure 950 a week ago. The motor feels great. the bike is one of those bikes that i liked right from the start. i had problems getting the bike in to the states but ktm was very helpful to me in getting it across the border. after several years of riding only sport bike or sport touring bikes, this is like a new sport.

HD come up with a modern, V twin motor for Buell....hmmm. Anyone remember the VR1000 Superbike? That should answer your question. HD is worried about one thing, $$$$.

How does that make them different than anyone else?

seruzawa I can't believe it; first you had an insightful comment and second is that I agree with you.

Other manufacturers build bikes out of benevolence and don't care about profits.

You mentioned drawing younger riders and I don't see it happening. Yamaha's FZ1 is probably the best selling naked bike and it's guys my age and older that I see riding them.

The squid posers are going to ride race replicas no matter what. Plus it seems this segment (Touno, KTM, etc.) is pricier than what the youth could afford.

Default Glad to see you coming over to my side finally.

"why can't HD come up with one for Buell? HD certainly isn't strapped for cash and there's no reason not to put out the effort. Since the Buell and Sportster lines aren't considered "real Harleys" by the snooty element of the big Twin crowd there shouldn't be much downside to putting an all new liter class V-twin in these bikes. It might attract more younger riders. THe V-Rod certainly doesn't." Glad to know you have been listening to me. Its OK to make is sound like it's your idea wink wink.

Default He stole it from me the motorcycle prophet

KPaul says nothing Buz, Longride, or Serusuzy says is original. I have been preaching this for a year now. Now he comes on and says it like he just got this revealation. Of course these guys will never match the motorcycle prophet.

Horse feces! They're all in it to make a buck. Anyone who tells you they are not are lying. Or about to go out of business and have their marque bought by a conglomerate who can run it at a profit and think the name is worth its weight in marketing/sales pull.
