Default MO Conspiracy

Because the Moto Guzzi would beat the Buell. I am starting to think MO stacks the odds so Buell can win.

For one thing, I like the Buell OK? I don't love it but I don't have a problem with those who do, either. Hard to believe that MO is being accused of Buell bashing. That's surely a first!

For another thing, this was obviously a very unusual test. If we had conducted it on a cobblestone road in Europe, the Multistrada would have *****slapped the others. If it was a more open track, the Beemer's performance would have been better. As far as the comparo, it was what it was. It showed what it showed. Our varied opinions help to demonstrate what there is to like and dislike about each bike from multiple perspectives. Don't take it personally if you feel differently. We don't.

Default Kudos to MO!

Seriously guys, nice job on this article. It's a real step up from some of the strange blathering that has showed up here lately.

I do have to side with Blake_1 about the Buell technology. Sure, they started with an old motor, but they updated it so much it's not fair to call it antiquated. It out powers the next bike by over 10ft-lbs and 5hp despite a lower redline. It seems to me that performance and power delivery should be the measurement of an engine's design, not valvetrain layout and cooling methods.

On the other hand, the Buell's motor really is noisy.

Have you got a story to go with that?

I don't know how much the Buell Engine/Transmission weighs. That would be a good way of measuring its performance. Compare it to the SV1000, VTR1000, KTM 1000cc engines/transmissions/cooling systems. They probably weigh less and have more horsepower/torque. I personally don't care what the results are, I'm just giving those who do some ammo against the Buell motor.

LOL! I'll make it a mission to do a direct comparo between the two, just to show you how wrong you are KPaul. The current Guzzis (Ghezzi & Brian modified doesn't count) would be a distant 4th place in this comparo.

Putting any Guzzi I've ridden (many) on a go-kart track like this would be a lot of fun, but the Buell is pretty much made for this. Maybe if you did a 24 hr race...

Nice test MO crew! Of the 3 I could see myself on the Beemer. The Duc is a bit too funky and the Buell too small for my tastes. Hey, next time you guys get inot a flame fest, give me a call, will ya? LOL
