You are totally right on this. 9 or 10 grand or more and you get flat black?

Default ST1100P - I'll take it!

I'd love to have one.

I can't bring myself to drop 15 large (TTT inc) into a ST1300, and the old ST1100s are bullet proof. The IBRs know something about bikes, and the single most consistently ridden bike is the ST1100.

The FJR1300 is great, but I refuse to drop 13 large and immediately replace the saddle and screen! It looses in to many comparos strictly because of Ergos. Everyone loves the motor, nobody loves the seat.

Gimmee...gimmee...gimmee. I'll drop a Givi top box on the back and take advantage of the high capacity alternator to run my extra lights...MP3 player...GPS...CB...and anything else I want!

Too bad that it can probably only be purchased by PDs.

Default Re: For shame; new market?

Good point.

Right now, the demand isn't here. But isn't the creation of new demand what marketing and advertising experts earn their big bucks for?

Really, the manufacturers have an opportunity here.

They can address the safety question by hiring insurance actuaries, proven researchers and smart advertisers to work together to increase the credibility of the truth about the advantageous combination of MSF training, smart riding and protective gear.

Do motorcycle manufacturing marketers read MO?

Default What's wrong with you guys????

Come on my friends. Honda is presenting the most amazing intergalactic cruiser ever - and all you can muster is some feeble murmurings about some run-of-the-mill 599cc POS.

Tsk tsk.

Default CBR1000RR's looks

Seems like something isn't quite right with the new RR's looks to me. Maybe the picture is "squished", but the bike looks long, covered up, and unbalanced in appearance. The front fairing seems stuck far out ahead of the steering head, and low down. The tail unit looks like a take-off of the GSX-R1000 (my personal favorite), and the right side swingarm is kind of strange looking. The underseat tail pipe is nice, but is this kind of "trendy"? If you're looking for max aerodynamics, buy an XX, ZX12 or 'Busa, but I like a little bit of a view on these supersports bikes. Oh well, it won't make me part with my current ride, that's for sure!

VTX, Baby! Love it!!! Can't wait until the Motorcycle Show in Seattle to take a peek at the new custom embellishments on the 2004 X's. Yeah, the plastic squids won't blink at polished wheels and chrome, but that's okay by me. When the sporties and nakeds blast by me dragging a knee and trolling for tickets, I'll wave to them like I do everybody else. I, for one, will speak up for the hot rod cruiser crowd. A two-wheeled muscle car is my idea of fun! Got to ride a friend's X this summer. Gobblin' up and spitting' out mashed potato-potato-potatoes is great entertainment! Woo hoo!! Hope to get my X this spring. Ride what you like and keep the shiny side up!
