Mea Culpa

Waepoint, I looked at the photos and I spoke (wrote) way too soon. I'm completely out of line and apologize from the bottom of my heart to Honda and all the MOfos.

"Matte Uranium" is not, most definitely not, silver.

Now I'm not sure exactly what color it is, but my cat threw up down in the basement and when I found the results about three weeks later it was very very close to "matte uranium" although perhaps a shade darker.

Again, my apologies.

Dream 50 All The Way!!!

Now we're talking! The Dream 50 is an excellent machine to get into racing with. Where do I sign up? I do think that $5499 MSRP is a little steep , but what can you do? It really would be better if the little bugger sold for about $3500 like Aprilia's RS50. This thing is soo cool, I'd like to have one just to hang on the wall or display like a piece of art.

Re: The Cracktacular 599

The Motorcycle Daily web site says that the MFRP of the 599 will be US$7,099. I don't know how they expect to compete against the FZ6 or the SV650 with that price. The SV650 naked is so much cheaper! If the prices were comparable, it would be different, maybe.

And of course sales will suck. Then Big Red will reach the indisputable conclusion that there's no market for 600cc standards.

I know I replied to an earlier post about the 599. But it occurred to me that there's an expression that fits...

A day late, and a dollar short.

Or about $1K over actually.

They say that it happens in three's ... so we had to lose John Ritter, too ...

Re: 2004 Hondas: Packed With Surprises!

What a confusing disappointment. The 599 with carbs...at that price?! This is exactly why the Hawk GT didn't do well...and unless they drop a thousand bucks off the price to distance it from the the 919 (not to mention the SV, Speed 4 and the new FZ6) it too will languish in dealer showrooms. And then they supply it in the color that every magazine hated when they tested the 919....primer black. Also, I'm not sure that Yellow is the best color if that's your only "real" color. Finally, they duplicate Triumph's green for the 919. How original is that?

And how many people are going to spend that kind of money for the Dream 50!????

It's a disappointment because we know what Honda could do....if they wanted to. I think some of these decisions ought to get some input from the U.S. headquarters 'cuz clearly there is a disconnect between Japan and the American market.

yeah, that's the one that really hit me for some reason. Guess it was because he was always percieved as a decent guy, and he was relatively young
