M3? M5? BoxerCup? R100S/RS? Really, no bad-ass bikes OR cars? Maybe it was just the bad-ass riders of the day ...

Sorry, too bad it doesn't actually happen like that. I slid my S 150ft into a curb last summer with no fire -- I think they thought of that when they designed the alloy, unlike you before you made this post.

Do you believe that your anecdotal experience disproves the possibility of fire? You were fortunate enough that the ignition temperature wasn't reached.
Perhaps a little inductive thinking was necessary before you made your post. |

re: idiotic comment above
>>BMW will never be known for building bad ass bikes or cars<< you must not have heard of the following: M1, M3, M5, M6, late '80's BMW powered F1 cars which made in excess of 900hp, current McLaren BMW F1 race car (2 1-2 finishes this season), McLaren road car (powered by a BMW V12. currently fastest road car in the world), BMW LeMans prototype (won LeMans in '99). |

Glad you made it through but if you had the abs you would had not locked the fornt end. I have a r110s and abs has saved my butt twice. If they allow try the two brothers exhaust or ztechnik for the rockster(makes a huge differance).

BMWs are subject to horrific karma due to the company's use of slave labor during WWII. Ditto, VW.
