If facing facts is what you are about, your Yamaha will end up in the junkyard LOOOOOOOONG before any of those crappy Evos that need the head gaskets or the Twin Cams with the "common" cam bearing failures that weren't all that common. YOU are the one that has the "superior" bike, remember? I never put down anything. Just stated facts. Japanese bikes are disposable. I think you guys with the Japanese bike attitude should wake up. Just a quick question here; how many Harleys have you owned? I bet I've even owned more Japanese bikes than you.

sorry, i thought a test of 3 lightweight twins all making comparable power with similar ergoes made pretty reasonable sense. Stupid of me...

anybody with functional eyeballs should be able to look at the new Buells and perceive they are nothing like the old ones, apart from the motor anyway. Various sources tell me reliability on the clean-sheet XB9R/S (and Blast) is much improved.

Puh-leez. difference betw you and me is access to all the new bikes for quite a few years now, which provides a larger frame of reference. It's my job to blast thru 100 now and then, and all I'm saying is the SV's a bit wheezy compared to the other 2 bikes here. All of them are wheezy compared to a GSXR1000 or R1.

I'm almost certain a used VFR would have won. However, I'm in a bit of a state of shock that the SV didn't win.

I just bought a 2002 SV650 this year - last one left on the dealer's floor - and I think the new 2003 design looks kinda crappy, too. If I had more money I probably would have been looking at a inline-4, but I'm happy with it. And yes Burns is the spawn of the Devil but that's what makes him... uh... different. I have to pretty much agree with his SV comments.
