I guess that good things do come to those who wait.

Very nice comparison of the Ninja 650 R and the SV650 S.

the proper bikes to which the SV650 should be compared to are.... Yamaha FZ6, Ducati Monster 600, Kawaski Ninja 650R... you know... things that cost about the same...

Agreed agreed agreed. I actually prefer the styling of the new SV vs the 2002. I think the LED tail is modern, the front fairing is sharper and more focused, and the aluminum frame is a good update. Besides, most racers cannot see a need for any improvement in this chassis. The suspension compontents are replaceable and are used as a price-point. Sure they could have put on inverted forks, radial brakes, Ohlins shocks, etc. but that would have defunct the whole reason for its sales sucess.

Get a new seat cover, shoot the cat, ditch the crate for a proper tail pack, and go another 15 years.
