Default Re: Get out of your box then.

I am one of those people who likes old Japanese bikes -- I am in the process of rebuilding my SR500 and an keeping my eyes open for a good RD400 (or 350) to replace the one I foolishly sold 26 years ago after losing my license (a story for another day). I also would love to get a Hawk GT -- another one of my long-time favorites.

My point has nothing at all to do with Japan vs the rest, but with the view of motorcycles as disposable commodities.

There is nothing at all wrong with viewing motorcycles as disposable commodities (like computers) that are replaced as soon as the technology becomes obsolete.

My point is that the people who look at mototcycles that way will not likely understand the mentality of us (perhaps sentimental fools) who prefer to maintain, and upgrade, our older bikes instead of buying the newest technology. Any more than I can relate to those who maintain and tweak their old Trash 81s or early IBM PCs, old Apples etc, rather than just calling Dell for the latest Pentium (tm) machine.

And, I am fairly certain that the world could give a f#ck for my approval -- just as well, as it seldom gets it!

Regards

Bob

I have not checked in the last month or so, but I think after promos etc, under $10k seemed to be the going price for Speed Triples.

As much as I favor singles and twins, I would have to seriously look at the Speed Triple also.

First off Longride, I was not quitting. Like Deiter, I grew bored with your argument, and decided we were never going to agree on anything ,so why persue it any longer? But if you want to continue with your nonsensical point of view, feel free. Here I am. As per usual with you harley guys, you missed the point. It's not what the bike is worth. someone does not buy a motorcycle for an investment, as mentioned earlier, they are bought to be ridden. So I really don't give a damn how much your bike is worth. The real question is how much are you riding it? Also I wonder why people are all over it, are they trying to mpop up the oil puddles? As far as a$$holes go, it seems you have that market cornered...

I actually thought it was a great $6,000 bike that was selling for $10,000

Dammit! I knew I was missing one.

The Head apologizes, but notes that he does not need to shave his entire body to get "pie."

Oh, by the way, kids, that Rosso Corsa is going for $13,900. (Yes!)

Less than the Tuono, by a good bit).

Less than the new Il Mostro with dual guns.

Just a little more thana two-year-old Sporster 1200 Sport.

I love this country.
