Default Mistake in article

The Sprint ST may appear to be the budget-bike of this bunch, but unless I'm mistaken, hard bags are an additional grand or so. Don't know if that's the case with Aprilia and Ducati, too, but I do know that hard bags come standard on the FJR. That would make it the true low-price leader.

You're right and you're wrong. The Sprint bags cost about $1000 and they are extra. But you can't find a new Sprint costing as much as the article says. The dealers have knocked the prices way down, so it is still the low price leader. The FJR is not the low price leader but it is a phenomenal value. Prob'ly why nobody can get one.

The CycleTrader tends to bear out your hypothesis, but here in Denver, there's only one Triumph dealer, and he's very much into maintaining list price. It kills me to see ads running in Kansas and California for new ST's at nine and change. THAT would be a no-brainer. As it is here locally, the FJR is the no-brainer. Although, truth be told, I've ridden the Triumph, but not the Yamaha.

See what happens when you start down the black hole of KPaulLogic? This just reduce to a level of complete ridiculousness.

You want a deal on a Sprint check out Ma's Cycles in Fargo, ND. They have 'em for waayy below list. http://www.mascycles.com, and no I do not work there, I just know the guys and they'll do what they can to make a deal or just BS if you want to. Thinking of dumping my Magna off for a Sprint ST/RS or something like that. I should go up there for a demo ride.......

For my 2002 VFR, I paid $1000 for my Givi Luggage and $1000 for my ABS. Honda then gave me a $1000 discount when buying the bike.

Point is...... $1000 for the ABS

The FJR in the pictures is NOT the ABS version. Note the blue front caliper covers and the lack of the "ABS" designation no the front fender.

The Sprint ST, included in the test, weighs about the same as (though makes a bit more power than) the '02 VFR. Both have optional hard bags. Ergos are very similar too.

I think these bikes are in the same class (no matter what Honda's marketing folks say) and the VFR should be included in any test that includes the Sprint ST.

That's funny, because I'm actually trying to dump MY Magna right now...

Great bike, but need something new. My neighbor across the street is torturing me with his 2001 ST which he has parked on the street, for sale at $7000... 20K miles, tho...
