Default Apologize for yourself for once

First, I didn't say shyt about the CBR being anything. Second, if you want to be a complete friggin idiot, take credit for that yourself, and quit using me as an excuse for your stupidity. All I said is Honda couldn't buy these guys out, PERIOD. I said NOTHING about the CBR 600RR, because I don't know one thing about it. No 12 pages of HONDA ads here like in Cycle World. They were going to get the TRUTH as MO saw it, and we know the truth, and you, are like oil and water. So to conclude, next time your shotgun mouth goes off and you catch shyt for it, own up to your own stupidity and stop blaming others. In other words, GROW UP.

Why risk losing the MO shootout when you can buy a sure victory at Motor Cyclist?

Does anyone else here read Motorcycle Consumer News? I am always amazed how all the Honda recall notices in MCN never make it to print in the other magazines, but how all the other manufacturers' recalls always seem to get printed everywhere. I wonder why that is?

Default Re: GRRRRRRRR!

Dumping IE definitely works, but what really helped was when we upgraded our sole Windows machine to the latest IE patch thingie, and it started doing it to.

It appears that photo.net was having strange problems with IE 5.X and 6.X with pictures saved with Photoshop 7 -- they reported that IE would stop loading with pictures saved in P7, and the only way to fix it was to save it as "Save for web".

Looking at the photoshop documentation, they were writing text to the preview field of the JPEG format, and we seemed to recall somethign about digital cameras writing the timestamp to the preview field of a JPEG images and gee, this whole problem started when we got that spiffy new digicam.

So, to make a long story short, in our automated thumbnail/wallpaper making program, adding the lines:

go "cp $file /tmp/";

go "jpegtran -copy none /tmp/$file > $dir/$file";

go "rm /tmp/$file";

Solved the problem.

please reload the story and tell us if it stalls with "21 pictures remaing". It shouldn't.

We're re-indexing and re-syncing older stories, beginning with the infamous R6 Spainish Intro that gave so many people fits. Please post here if that doesn't work, either.

Well, compared to riding the Ducati 749S, fixing this problem pretty much sucked.

Do you really think that the CBR is that bad? I just bought a subscription to Roadracing world. I am very curious why they ranked it so low. Who won their comparo?

I think that MO are the only ones who can settle this. Will you indulge us?

Default Re: Oh, then why the ZX6-RR?

"BIKE said the RR could in fact be better than 636 on the road, since 636 may sometimes have too much midrange for street use. "

Wow, what a crock of SH!T. How can a bike have too much midrange for the street? What about 1000s, which the press louds for their midrange?

"They concluded that RR would be just as fast on the street. "

Wow, that's some conclusion- how would the Honda do that with less midrange and barely equal top-end power? Would it ride a magic carpet to victory? Maybe those fifteen extra pounds would give it more stability/traction! Yeah, that'll make up for it!

This sounds like the typical Honda b!owjob by the mainstream motorcycling press. That's exactly why the Brits suck, and MO rules.

Default Re: Defending Honda and the CBR600RR

The Kawasaki won, Yamaha 2nd, Honda 3rd, ZX-6RR 4th, GSX-R600 5th.

Reasons why the Honda sucked hind tit:

25 lbs. extra weight over the Kaw. and Yam.

Power too high in the RPM range

Horrible seating position

Smoking Engine

Rear tire rubs againt rear fender (so much for Honda's legendary build quality)

Poor ground clearance

Poor shifting

Quotes:

"You have to rev the ***** out of it. It hauls ass up top, but it's got nothin' down low. If you let the revs drop, you're dead."

-Michael Hannas

"Turn-in is difficult, and side-to-side transitions are slow."

-Chris Ulrich

Newsflash- nobody said it was the same bike,captaindumbass. I said the europeans loved it, and kawasaki sold a ton of them. thats why we have kawasaki on the same trend here.I think they are in the business to sell bikes even if it isnt exactly a true 600cc
