C'mon over Ken and take my ZX9 for a spin. Then you can compare it to the SV650 and write an article for MO. Sorry to hear about your dilemma, but I was in that situation many years ago.

Yeah, the 9 is another member of the dream stable. Came pretty close on that one, too.

Something tells me that your proposed comparo would go over like a lead zeppelin. No smug SV ownership here. In fact, craving what it is missing is the source of my grief.

But I'll certainly take your Zed Ex for a modest throttling...

Don't know about that. Burns claims the "sprog" is fun. I'm inclined to believe him. Besides, if I hook 'em young, I'll have an accomplice in my quest!

OK, the bike sounds like a good one although I'd probably lean toward the "Naked" version (which I'm hoping will came across as a frugal man's Tuono). Which brings me to one last question before I move to Spain. What about the Ladies? Performance, personality, looks, handling? You know the usual writeup. Any test rides? Just kidding, Spain has seemed like Motorcycle Nirvana to me for awhile and your entertaining and informative story has only reinforced that perception. Nice article, Thanks

Default Hey Hey Easy There on the Falco

What do you mean this looks to be the bike the Falco should have been?

What does this bike have that a Falco doesn't, exactly?

They are both variations on the not quite a sportbike/not quite a standard theme.

(can you tell I ride a Falco?)

Doubt its any better? From what perspective?

It is slightly lighter

Fuel Injected vs. carbs

Better frame than the "tuned flex" experiment

Bigger tank

I'll bet it has at least 10 more hp and probably gets better range on a tank.

My guess is the SV1000 will exceed the aging super hawk in almost every category except possibly build quality. We'll just have to wait and see

I think I have been anticipating this bike too much because what I get from the review is that the SV is on par with the other bikes in the class. The wobble at 95 mph worries me as my tuck isn't as tight as it used to be. I'm sure Suzuki will sell a boatload of them but I'm not as anxiously awaiting the arrival as I once was. Good article BTW. Keep the author around. When I was your age... great line!
