"No standard power windshield for $12500? What kind of crap is that? They had 12 freakin' years to design that bike! How about standard ABS, power windshield, and a puick-release top case for $12500. Now we're talking."

Buy an FJR. You can have a power windshield and top case (no ABS though, not yet anyway) for $12,500.

You are right about the rocker arm configuration on these two engine types. My mistake was looking at an old concours camshaft with it's four lobes and forgeting about the forked rocker arms. I knew that the connie motor was not patterned after the ZX- 10 as the concours first appeared in 1986 and the ZX-10 in 1988. VWW

not bimmer riders or goldwingers. Part of the thrill seems to be in putting on the miles and daring the bike to rot.

" Didn't the old K bikes used to weep oil into the cylinders if you left the bike on it's sidestand? Great big blue cloud on startup?"

still do, apparently. My K1200 Light Truck rider coworker _always_ uses the centerstand for that readson.

Sounds like maybe his rings are not fully seated. I thought that the pinned piston rings (keep the ring gaps on the uphill side of the piston) took care of the worst of it.

Still, I have to wonder what engineering team didn't think to flop the engine over the other way in the first place, so the head is slightly uphill on the sidestand.

Yup. The FJR is mighty tasty. And Honda had a year to preview it in Europe so there's no excuse!

Can you imagine paying $12500 for a bike and being seen with a screwdriver raising your windshield? LMFAO!

Why it's not on the GL1800 either I have no ides. I can only guess that the inevitable SE model will have it.
