MO is not so cheap after all: they extended my subscription for eight years. So I guess I'll be hanging around here after all.

I don't believe quality was the downfall, but rather refinement. It's hard to refine a design with the creditors banging on the door. I much prefer my Excelsior to any of may Harleys and have even decided to get rid of my BMW R1100RT and ride my Excelsior exclusively.

My EH now has my homemade 2-into-1 ceramic-coated Supertrapp, McCarthy H5 cams, Monster Tune, and candy apple red paint. It's the most satisfying bike I've had since 1956 when i got my first Whizzer! And with chopper dealers sprouting on every corner, I no longer get the comment, "at least it's not just another Harley"; now I get, "it's great to see something besides just another chopper". My Harleys are sold, my Royal Star is sold, and I'm about to e-Bay my Beemer. I suppose I'll be riding the Excelsior Henderson until I'm so old I have to get a Gold Wing with training wheels!

I recently sold my BMW R1100RT as well. I'm keeping the EH as my only bike. The only bike I've ridden that I like as well, is the V-Rod.

Sold my BMW R1100RT that replaced the Royal Star. The EH is my only bike now. I haven't found another bike that I like riding as well as the EH, except maybe the V-Rod. But overall, ride, style, feel, I still like the EH best.

I AM NOT WORTHY!!! Just let me sail my ST1100 through the twisties for a few hours, and I am definitely in Randy's space when I get to the roadhouse. You absolutely gotta be s***** me! American flagged HOG men, in headband costumes-- leather-clad H-D chapped warriers-- what a hoot!! I did Veet Nam, as a younger man (didn't like it much) and don't really need some H-D wrapped leather boy to tell me "Ahm an American!" in real throaty resonance. Biz-School changed my mind about the economy, vis-a-vis buying US-made gear, but that's another story. Keep the faith, Randy. I think riding is just, well, riding. And nobody has the REAL ride locked up. It's like the book sez: If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him.
