Nice writing but it brought back a faded & well repressed memory. I once had the honor of being greeted as a "white mother f***ing roman nazi jew" by a rastafarian that I had to kindly ask him to leave a Caribbean property after he macheteed a whole clump of coconuts from 50' up onto the luggage topped roof af a taxi. Undershorts, swim trunks, bras & panties & dazed guests everywhere & me unable to live life out of this descriptive box, after all these years. Thanks for reminding me....you.... you....mouse!

"Opinions are like as#holes everyone's got one."

1970 Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry.

Take care,

"...a whole pack of overserved motojournalists who performed an unnatural act with a French golf cart."

That was the most compelling line- more details! More details! You may convince me to be a career motoscribe yet.

Default Those wacky (political) liberals...

always wrecking our fun. Take away all the fun weapons, things that go fast, drop the speed limits, get rid of motorized off-road recreation, and what would we be left with?? Sweden! The most boring country in the world, and strangely enough, they happen to be Socialist. Damn nanny states. (Grumble grumble grumble...) Oh, and in completely unrelated news, people in Seattle are driving really slowly.

Argumentum ad homonym or 'Argument against the man' is indeed the logical fallacy of claiming what a person says is untrue simply because of who it is (as*hole) who is making the argument rather than the validity of the argument itself.

However, balling up a fist or promising to bash a person with a ball bat if he/she doesn't change his/her mind is not an argumentum ad homonym, but rather an argumentum ad baculum - or argument by appeal with a club (aside the head, or elsewhere). That's the favorite argument of dictators, tyrants, or the guys in Washington who want you to agree with their stupid policies and promise to get you if you don't, even if the policies are those of a jackass (argumentum ad homonym).

Anyway, You just gave us two logical fallacies to not in the aticle for the price of one!
