Small nit: Ike actually warned against building up a military-industrial complex. Hmmm. the general less hawkish than the civilians/draft dodgers... Why is that familiar?

Very ironic at the beginning of three paragraph response.

> "Three items are glaringly obvious by their bankruptcy..."

Damn, you're pretty good at this satire stuff. Very clever disguising the ad hominem approach under a veil of pretentious self-agrandisment. As a fan of irony, I'm truly impressed!

danch, 'logician, eternal student...PHhhhWaaahahaha!" see, now, I can't do that with a straight face!

Guess I'll have to sign off with the truth.

danch,

hopelessly unable to take myself _quite_ that seriously.

I am very disappointed that this site and the editorial content of many of the "articles" seem pre-occupied with political jabber rather than information or discussions on motorcycles.

I won't re-subscribe if this keeps up when my present subscription expires. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing and here in America we can vote with our pocketbooks as well as at the ballot box.

My dad once said you will soon learn that common sence isn't common at all. People prove him correct every day!!

You really need to adjust your medication, John.

Actually, your stuff is a real smile about mid-day.

I just started riding again after a 30-year intermission. Took a 3-day re-learning class, and I am waiting for my (bright yellow) r1150gs to arrive.

I also just started subscribing to MO and looks like I will have something to read in my email on a regular basis, besides how to "be bigger" loose weight, gain weight, make millions, work at home, and/or borrow millions at low interest.

As to the rant on helmets, I rode in the late 60s (while in the service of my country) We always wore helmets...well let me correct that. Most of us wore helmets...only the errant Jar-head didn't. We didn't have to, it just made sense.

As to wheelies...I would love to do wheelies, but only in an empty parking lot...with all my friends watching, of course.

In any event, don't let the bastards get you down and keep ranting...

I believe that if you do vote, and the person you voted for wins, then you shouldn't complain. It's your fault the bastard is in there.

No, but she did suggest that I should pay for other people's abortions by making it state-funded medical procedure as part of her health-care plan.
