12.78 * (768 +150)/ (898+150)

= 12.78 * 918 / 1048 = 11.194694656488549618320610687023.

So it beats the V-Rod.

Sounds like what you are looking for is a schwin. Maybe a nice basket for the handlebars and a flag to ride high behind.

What's sad is you believing any of the manufacturers weights and being willing to pay sticker price for any of these things. WAKE UP

Burns is great! I find cruisers every bit as boring he (maybe even moreso).

Please MO, no more cruiser "shootouts". The dyno chart on the HD 883 was enough to make me gag.

ride on Burnsie!

Name one class of motorcycle that Honda makes that no one else does.

Default Long-term thinking for longride :)

Well said redecxes. I didn't know that Harley received help from the Feds. I wish more American businesses thought about the long-term.

Yeah my thoughts exactly...the current valk is a perfect as a cruiser can be....big powerful with a huge honkin engine sticking out like it don't care thats its too darn big for anything else on the bike its just gonna stick out anyway.

Default Re: Spanking Interceptors

Hey V4BRYAN, i had a 98 interceptor, and was all revved up for the new model. It sucks. Uglier, Heavier, and not a BIT more power, (got some electrical bugs too.) Actually, check the MO dyno...LESS POWER in some places. This is NEW tech? Yeah, I spank my buddy's interceptor. Nothing to be proud of? Probably not, but wouldnt it ***** you off when i have a "tank" of a 1300cc "straight line" bike and im losing you in the twisties? Wait a minute...i think the wet weight of my 1300 'bus is within 10 pounds of the new VFR! an 800! with basically the same chassis that my 98 had!! Who's driving the "tank" now??

It should be embarrassing to Honda.

Oh, and the ugly thing? Dont think so. Ive got the 2002 falcon edition, all black with black frame. Cannot go ANYWHERE without getting compliments from people who dont even know bikes, not to mention even the R1 (arguably the best looking jap bike ever) riders at ride-in events. Never thought id get tired of answering questions from bike people who want to know what the hell it is. Go see one in person, photos dont do justice. Better yet, ride one. It's on the verge of orgasmic. Suzuki should have never made copper the first year color for this bike. I think it made a bad first impression for a lot of people, including me!

And the aftermarket for this bike is about 100 times bigger than for the VFR...even more power, racing, and touring potential.

Im as big of a Honda guy as there could be. Good stuff and super-reliable. But other bikes are getting to be just as trustworthy while being more cutting edge. I didnt ever imagine owning a 'Zuke, but Big Red likes to be "old faithful" and middle of the road. Honda reminds me of an old Senior PGA tour golfer...just laying up, playing it safe, settling for par and moving on without notice while other companies like Yamaha and Suzuki are playing like Tiger Woods...grip it and rip it, going for it all and taking chances. AND being noticed!
