>>The downside is low resale value for perfectfully good late model sportbikes. <<
Of course, for those of us willing to buy and ride 1-2 year old sportbikes, that is the UPSIDE |

It looks and sounds awesome!!! I'm a happy owner of a 02 R6 and already thinkin of trading up as long as the dealership don't try to rape me on the trade-in. I can't wait for the first ride article. John B I like your writing better, so my vote is for you to go to Spain to test it.

WTF? "The upshot is digital precision with analog feel, and smoother, less lurchy delivery than any motorcycle FI we've sampled here at MO." How would you know that if you haven't taken it for a spin?

Just when I thought I'd decided on my next bike (Gixxer 1000 for $8500, or Trumpet Daytona for $9000 - both new '02s from dealers) along comes the new R6. The less-horsepower R6 exceeds my performance needs, and it looks better than the aforementioned. What's a bike nut to do? I've got a check burning a hole in my pocket... this sickness really sucks...

Do you guys need better genetically modified hamburgers that make you lose weight? I would hate to think the only option left would be to buy a Harley with a wide fat-ass seat when the Japanese brands have to put a warning on the tank saying "In the interest of safety no rider to exceed 140lbs" along with "Remember to wear a helmet". If you are fat and dumb you are happy - right? Then the couch looks like a really good option.
Cheers from NZ. p.s. how come your basketball team came two places after ours at the champs in Indianapolis? |

Yes, but the cure is hard to argue against.

got to say that the thing looks great but is it really worth all the time, effort and $ to have the best of the new? i mean with the cf technology, the additional hp and stiffer frame will you really be any faster that your buddy that has last year's bike and is still a faster rider than you?
